About Jooniper8

I am 51 years old, and am on treatment for Hepatitis C. The treatment has a lot of side effects and my activities are restricted. I was approved for disability recently, but prior to that I had lost my job due to my illness impacting my work performance. I have gone through all my savings including my 401k. My issue now is I need to move to a smakker more affordable apartment. The place I'm in now costs 75 % of my income! I'm behind in rent by a month and a half. I have found a few nice apartments I can afford but I need to find a way to pay off my current landlord and pay someone to move me. Once I'm moved I would be able to repay a loan, in small increments, of course. I was a Social worker before I got sick and believe me I have checked every possible resource in this city and there's nothing for someone in my particular situation. I would hope to be able to help someone else out in some way in the future.

As a social worker don't you get angry for not being able to get assistance when you need it?  It seems like after years of taking care of pediatric vent/trach kids as a nurse and always getting special things that they needed, even buying patients things that they needed and when I need help I have to resort to this. Does this site actually generate help?  I remember giving a young nurses aid at a hospital where I was working money for college books. All of the years that I donated school supplies, I really wish I had them back now! Now my son needs the help.  It's devestating to feel so helpless.
